The Technical Regulations for Concrete Filled Steel Tube Structures (CECS28:2012), edited by Professor Wang Yuyin from the School of Civil Engineering and Prof. Xiao Congzhen of the Chinese Academy of Architectural Sciences, won the first prize ofStandard Scientific and Technological Innovation.

“Standard Scientific and Technological Innovation Award is the first exclusive award in the field of Engineering Construction Standardization in China. The award aims to further promote the standardization reform of engineering construction in China, strengthening the implementation of standards and the transformation of standardization achievements, ensuring product quality and safety, giving full play to the supporting role of standards in industrial transformation and upgrading, economic upgrading and efficiency enhancement, and fully mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of standardization workers. With the approval of the National Science and Technology Award Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology (Award No. 0292), the China Association for Standardization of Engineering Construction carried out the selection of the Standard Science and Technology Innovation Award. In the selection, 245 declaration criteria were received, and 10 first prizes, 18 second prizes and 24 third prizes were finally selected.

Standard Scientific and Technological Innovation Award selection meeting was held in China Architectural Standard Design Research Institute Ltd On October 13, 2018,. Experts and scholars from the field of engineering construction standardization were invited to form a review committee. According to the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Standard Scientific and Technological Innovation Award Appraisal Method, through formal review, preliminary review and evaluation, the evaluation committee made a selection according to the innovation, application and promotion of the standard, compilation level, economic and social benefits, etc. Finally, 52 criteria were confirmed and nominated for the Standard Scientific and Technological Innovation Award. After final comment, ten first-class prizes, 18 second-class prizes and 24 third-class prizes were awarded.

The award ceremony was grandly held at the Third Summit Forum on Standardization of Engineering Construction in Changzhou on November 9, 2018. Professor Wang Yuyin, editor-in-chief of the regulations, participated in the meeting on behalf of the compilation group to receive the award.
