Harbin Institute of Technology’s UndergraduateCollegeheld the 2023GlobalSummer School(GSS)Summary Meeting and the 2024 Application Launch Meeting on November 30th, 2023. The aim of these gatherings was to strengthen theGSSprogram, and promote internationalization in undergraduate education. The event took place inRoom 808 of the Gewu Building and was chaired by Xu Ping, the Vice Dean of the UndergraduateCollegeand Director of the Academic Affairs Office. Representatives from 20schoolsand departments within the university attended the meeting as project leaders.
During the meeting, attendees had the pleasure of hearing from two distinguishedproject leaders, Zhao Jie and Geng Yanquan, both from top-rated schools at this prestigious university. They shared invaluable insights and experiences on how to create engaging and enrichingGSSwithin their respective departments, offering valuable advice on how to enhance and developthe GSSprogram further.

Vice Dean Xu delivered an exciting presentation on the progress and success of theGSS programs. From highlighting the growth and accomplishments of the 2023 programsto outlining the upcoming plans, he emphasized the crucial aspects of promoting the program, streamlining operations, executing projects with impact, managing finances prudently, and ensuring long-lasting results for the anticipated 2024 programs.

Since 2016, Harbin Institute of Technology has successfully hosted eight sessions of theGSS. With a diverse range of 68 unique programs taught by over 300 esteemedscholars, both domestic and international, this initiative has enriched the educational journey of more than 4,000 students from various cultural backgrounds. Engaging teaching sessions, informative presentations, insightful lectures, cultural exchanges, and immersive visits have all come together to cultivate a vibrant international atmosphere, bolstering the university’s global influence.
